Meet Our Doctors

Dr. Lenius, Dr. Rodabough, Dr. Heintz, Dr. Bankhead, Dr. Oldroyd

William Heintz, DMD

My name is Dr. Heintz. My wife, Ellen, and I have four amazing (grown-up) children: Billy, Matt, Patrick and Jamie, and two wonderful grandchildren: Will and Amelia. We love going to Chicago whenever we can to visit them. When I am playing well, I really enjoy golf... so I guess you could call that a hobby. Fishing is another hobby of mine, whether it be on a rare fishing excursion or just bass fishing on a small lake. But, what I really enjoy most is listening to good music and relaxing with my family.

I am an Alton native. I attended Marquette Catholic High School and graduated in 1971. After completing my undergraduate studies at Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville, Illinois, I received my bachelor degree in biology in 1976. I attended Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, graduating in 1983 with my D.M.D. degree. I completed my specialty training in orthodontics at Washington University in 1986, which is when I began my wonderful career that I still love to this day.

I look forward to meeting you and working with you to achieve an amazing, life-changing smile.

Brent Bankhead, DDS, MS

Born and raised in St. Louis, Dr. Brent Bankhead says that he learned early on about the many benefits of orthodontics as he grew up working in his father's office as a teenager.

"Seeing all the lives that my father touched and the joy upon their faces made me realize that orthodontics was the perfect profession for me," he says.  "Nothing beats the opportunity to meet so many amazing people, watch their children grow, and really make an impact on their lives."

Since the beginning of his career, Dr. Brent has advocated for new technology within the orthodontic field.  He's an international lecturer for SureSmile and serves on the SureSmile Advisory Board, working closely with the design team to develop and implement the latest in orthodontic technology.  In addition, Dr. Brent serves as a mentor for numerous SureSmile doctors, training them both on-site and hosting monthly SureSmile Study Club Webinars.

"Laurice and I have three amazing sons--Christian, Spencer, and Samuel.  When I'm not in the office, I try and spend as much time as possible with my family and friends.  We are very active in our church and enjoy many outdoor activities together like skiing, horseback riding, running, and biking."

Darren Rodabough, DDS, MS

"As a father of four, I know how important it is for parents to find the best healthcare providers for their families," he says.  I feel very blessed to have met and treated so many amazing families in our communities. Nothing gives me more satisfaction than seeing a patient smile who was once hesitant to smile because of their teeth."

Born and raised in Washington State, Dr. Darren is an internationally recognized lecturer, teacher, and mentor, speaking on behalf of Invisalign and SureSmile.  His expertise in orthodontics has earned him a position on the SureSmile Advisory Board as a clinical instructor for SureSmile training courses worldwide.  He was selected by his peers as one of St. Louis' top dentists in 2013, 2014, and 2015, as seen in St Louis Magazine.

"My wife Erin and I have been blessed with four great kids--McKay, Natalie, David, and Samuel.  We initially moved to St. Louis for my orthodontic training, but realized we'd found our home here in the Midwest.  I enjoy spending time with my family, participating in church activities, playing basketball, and reading.  I also enjoy running and cycling, and try to complete several triathlons each year."

Jeffrey Lenius, DDS, MS

"I can't think of a more rewarding profession than orthodontics.  From the moment you first set foot in our office until the minute your new smile is revealed, orthodontics should be fun," he says.  "My ultimate goal is to satisfy the patient with a great treatment experience and amazing final results."

Dr. Jeff shares his colleagues' enthusiasm for new technology and enjoys pairing these new advances with tried-and-true orthodontic fundamentals.  His interest and commitment to computerized orthodontics has helped maintain our practice's position among the top 1% of Invisalign, SureSmile, and Lingual Braces providers worldwide.  In addition, he enjoys educating local dentists and their staffs via in-office "lunch-and-learns".

"Patients often refer to me as the small town doctor since I'm originally from Reinbeck, Iowa, a small town in Northeast Iowa.  My wife Melanie and I live in Benton Park, Missouri, with our puppy, Carver, and I love everything St. Louis has to offer.  I love spending time with family and friends, outdoor activities such as skiing, pheasant hunting, and biking.  I'm slightly obsessed with crazy socks, Air Jordan sneakers, and my Iowa Hawkeyes."

Alexander Oldroyd, DMD

Dr. Alex Oldroyd loves being an orthodontist, especially the art of dental cosmetics combined with the mechanics of function.

"It is such an honor to work with our patients. We have the best patients and the best staff. It is so exciting to be part of the smile transformation every day."

Dr. Alex began his orthodontic career after working in private practice as a general dentist for two years. It was during that time that he developed a love for dental esthetics and the small details that take a case from good to great.  He enjoys sharing special cases in our dentist newsletter: A Smile To Learn From.  Like his colleagues, he's Invisalign certified and passionately committed to continuing education on this and other innovative technologies.

"My wife Alison and I live in Lake Saint Louis with our daughter, Alyssa, and are very excited to welcome a new baby to our family in October!  When I'm not in the office, I love learning about science and history, and I also enjoy running, choral music, and board games."
